The Deputy Head of Mission (British Embassy Manila), Alastair Totty, and Cebu City Mayor, Edgardo Labella, were given a tour of our STI Cebu facility last week.
They were in Cebu to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Global Future Cities Programme under the UK’s Prosperity Fund. The programme sets out opportunities to promote inclusive urban economic growth and increase global prosperity through targeted interventions on transportation, urban planning and urban resilience.
Danny Romero, Head of Sales Asia, also attended the MoU signing at Cebu City Hall. Danny explained “it is remarkable to see how the British Embassy captured the potential on providing strategic support through their Prosperity found. Smart transportation and urban planning are two key factors for the fast-growing city of Cebu and the Mayor is driving a plan to impulse both areas. IOT companies oriented to smart city solutions will be invited to present improvement plans and I expect STI to play a manufacturing role for some of these projects”.
