01 Our People
Gareth Pritchard
Test Engineer
Since September 2015 I have been working in the Poynton Test Department as a Test Engineer. I have been trained on a variety of products that are both complex and interesting and I have been well supported in my technical development throughout my time here. During this time I have undertaken two Higher Education Qualifications; a HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an NVQ Level 4 Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture.
Michelle Colwell
Front End Engineering Manager
I would never have got where I am today if it wasn’t for STI’s investment in our training and development. I have been offered several Development Plans and given guidance and support through each one. I have been supported by STI to develop my skills further and I am now a certified Mentor and I hope I can now pass what I have learned onto those who are currently learning and progressing.
Mauricio Freitas
Product Support Technician
I joined STI as a Trainee SMT Operator; I had no previous experience in working in the electronics industry so was put through the STI Training School where I learned all about component recognition, ESD, H&S and all other necessary tools for my job. I feel STI offers opportunities for development for those that want it and are determined. I’ve had colleagues go from Operator to Engineer, Wash Operator to Programmer - and now I’m one of those who has also progressed.
Emma Lilly
HR Manager
I am proud to work for such a progressive Company who is forward thinking when it comes to technology and its people. Working at STI, the things I value the most are the fantastic group of people I work with across the Company, the personal and professional challenges that arise, as well as the many benefits I make use of such as the Health Cash Back Scheme and Flexi Scheme.
Gavin Chivers
PCB Assembly Team Leader
Having started with no experience whatsoever and with the great teaching and guidance from the STI Training Team I managed to get the confidence and skills to become a Trainee PCB Assembler. My skills progressed and developed under the tutoring of my Team Leaders and I managed to progress to PCB assembler. When a position of Team Leader became available I was put forward and I now pass on my knowledge and experience to trainees.
