President of the Philippines makes his first visit to the UK to Promote Trade and International Relations.
The President of the Philippines, His Excellency Benigno Aquino, on his way to meet President Obama in Washington, made his first visit to Europe this week and chose the UK as his only stopping-off point.
The President is travelling with a large delegation of senior civil servants, officials and top business figures to promote international relations and trade with key strategic allies in the west for the benefit of the Philippines and its partners; he met with Prime Minister David Cameron and Foreign Secretary William Hague at 10 Downing Street and then was hosted at a lunch in London by Jeremy Browne MP, Minister of State, Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the Lord Mayor of the City of London.
Thanks to the close working relationship that STI has established with the British Embassy in Manila and the UK Department of Trade and Industry (UKDTI), an invitation for the lunch was extended to Tony Best, STI Director, and he enjoyed hearing the official speeches and met the President for a brief photo opportunity.
STI continues to expand its footprint in the Philippines and Tony was standing in for Simon Best, Managing Director of STI, who was in Manila at this time promoting STI-P at the signature Philippines Semiconductor and Electronics Convention and Exhibition in Manila.
