Surface Technology International Philippines (STI-P) has enrolled as a “GREAT Sponsor” with the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP) in partnership with The British Embassy in Manila, “This is GREAT Britain” campaign, running over 5 months from October 2013 and ending in a Grand Finale event in March 2014.
The BCCP is an independent, non-profit membership organization whose primary objective is to support the development of its members’ business and social interests in the British and Philippines communities, helping them achieve their complementary objectives.
The campaign – “This is GREAT Britain” – is a five-month celebration of the best of British business and culture, building mutual prosperity and deeper friendship with the Philippines. Over the course of the Campaign there will be 15 diverse events culminating in a 3-day ‘grand finale’.
“This is a really exciting campaign for our manufacturing facility in Cebu, Philippines,” said Simon Best, President of STI-P. “We have had excellent business support from the BCCP and this is a great opportunity to get more involved in the community and equally importantly, to gain greater exposure to potential new customers. It’s an ideal forum for us to showcase our Contract Electronics Manufacturing [CEM] facility and how we link the Philippines into our UK site. Since acquiring STI-P, we have invested in both technology and personnel so that the capabilities, standards and practices mirror that of our UK facility. We can offer customers a seamless CEM solution to fit any budget and to meet regional distribution objectives in Asia,” added Simon.
STI Ltd acquired the CEM facility in Cebu in 2010 and has used the support of BCCP to gain commercial awareness in the Asian business community as well as their knowledge and expertise on “How to do business in the Philippines” to avoid the pitfalls of entering a new foreign market.
Across an impressive group of global customers in the automotive, medical and commercial markets, STI-P supports the full range of electronic requirements, from PCB assembly through to full box-build capability. With all the key certifications achieved, including AS 9100, STI-P ensures the highest standards of printed circuit board assembly are achieved on time, every time.
This is an exciting partnership and event for STI-P to be involved in.
