STI is very pleased to announce it has gained certification to AS9100 Rev C – the latest revision of the industry standard for Aerospace, Space and Defense.
Revision C – the most demanding level yet for this standard – requires ownership and measurement of the entire product realisation process to such a precise extent that, according to Chris Lyon, Group Operations Director, “it must represent a clear and explicit commitment from the entire management team. I was delighted with the way the STI team rose to the challenge.”
The internationally recognized standard incorporates ISO 9001:2008 in its entirety, with additional requirements to ensure the repeatable manufacture of equipment for high-reliability environments.
Simon Best, Group Managing Director, added: “Ultimately, Rev C means that we are able to work to the most exacting standards in our industry to meet the latest demands of our existing aerospace customers in Europe and the USA. It means, too, that we can offer new customers the assurance of high quality and we can leverage our strong certification list to venture into new markets and territories.”
STI chose Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), the leading international provider of quality management systems, for their certification.
