Selected for their consistent, high quality manufacturing, STI is now the sole supplier of the MIU (Mercury Interface Unit) which is the core component of the Mercury ES IP Voice Communications Platform from Trilogy Communications. Trilogy won the Queen’s Award for increasing exports by 88% over three years, which represents 80% of total sales.
The last three years has seen the most significant growth in Trilogy’s operations in the US defence market with the inclusion of the Mercury ES system as an integral part of a major US Air Force programme. The system is Trilogy’s latest development in a long line of audio communication solutions that facilitates network based VoIP communications between different security levels and across domains, whilst ensuring IP separation.
The core component of the Mercury ES system is the MIU, a multi-purpose device that provides multi-channel real-time voice communications, radio interoperability, conventional and VOIP telephony, and other capabilities over terrestrial and/or satellite networks. It can also be used for single-site or standalone operations.
The complete MIU module is manufactured and tested by STI, supplying Trilogy with a finished component for the Mercury ES system. The unit is completely produced and assembled in the AIT (Assembly Integration and Test) department at STI. Full testing of the finished unit, including a twenty-four hour soak test, is also undertaken prior to shipping to Trilogy.
