At STI we believe investment in state of the art equipment is crucial to our business. We have recently invested in a further Takaya flying probe tester within our extensive product proving facility. The recent addition, to our already extensive capabilities, is the very latest Takaya tester and further improves the accuracy and speed of the process that ensures there are no missing or lose connections on finished circuit boards.

The Takaya testers utilise high speed, independently moving, probes that move very rapidly across the circuit board checking each and every connection. The probes move exceptionally fast, making contact with access test points, vias, component pads and pitch parts. The pattern of movement is determined by a CAD programme, which is created for each board type, with the Takaya machine being faster than the traditional “bed of nails” test.
The latest generation of Takaya tester integrates the probe movement and positioning control technology and measuring techniques in one model. This achieves the highest positioning accuracy, the highest inspection speed and the highest coverage as well as extended AOI functions and many other features. STI now has 5 Takaya machines in total.
