The recent addition, to our already extensive capabilities, is the very latest Takaya tester and further improves the accuracy and speed of the process that ensures there are no missing or lose connections on finished circuit boards.

STI's Green Team supports local Tree Party |
|
Since its launch, the STI Green Team has introduced a number of internal initiatives in order to reduce the company’s carbon footprint (see our Green Team pages). Additionally, the team is always looking for opportunities to support wider community initiatives that promote sound environmental stewardship.
The Big Tree Party was an event organised by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council with the aim of planting over 1,500 young trees to form a new area of community woodland. STI was pleased to offer financial support to the scheme, and also to round up a team to get their wellies on and get digging!

STI and Mydata demonstrate capabilities |
|
STI has recently jointly hosted a seminar, in association with Mydata Automation, to show the operation of the Mydata equipment in a dynamic NPI environment.
As STI were placing an order for a second pick and place machine to be supplied by Mydata, this was seen as an ideal opportunity for both businesses to showcase their capabilities, with Mydata’s leading technology being utilised in STI’s best in class NPI facility.

New Siemens D-Series Line (Investment £1M) |
STI continues its ongoing programme of investment in technology to further advance its manufacturing capabilities.
Our latest investment to further improve our manufacturing capabilities has been to purchase the very latest state of the art D-Series from Siemens. An investment of over £1 million will allow off-line programming and kitting and a highly impressive placement rate of 85,000 components per hour.

Lightwriter SL40 - Not just a smooth talker |
STI components are being used in an innovative communication aid for people with impaired speech.
Founded in 1973 Toby Churchill Ltd, based in Cambridge, is the fourth largest manufacturer of communication aids in the world.
Toby Churchill himself became disabled and lost his speech in the late 1960s. Dissatisfied with the communication aids then available, he started to design communication tools for his personal use, and after meeting other people with similar needs, started a manufacturing business to make the products more widely available.
